Marion B. Colter
July 1, 1953 - April 29, 2015
During Bernie's undergrad years at Grambling State University, he was a member of the GSU World Famed Tiger Marching Band. He performed with the band throughout the U.S. with the highlight of his college band experience culminating in a trip to Japan. Bernie received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology in 1976.
Bernie, as he was known by his Grambling family, was a loved member of the Metro Atlanta Chapter. He coached the Alumni Softball Team, was the Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter president from 1978-1980 and was instrumental in the formation of the Tiger Golf Challenge.
Bernie also had a love for children and giving back to his community. He was instrumental in teaching the fundamentals of baseball and basketball to all children especially his grandson (Christian) from the age of 3 to high school. He was the head coach of several baseball teams to include the G-Tigers from 2007-2009.
Bernie's legacy for Grambling State University continues today.
